TCIA Accrediation - a Tree Care Industry seal of approval

The Haupt Tree Company is one of the first tree care companies in the country to receive accreditation by the Tree Care Industry Association (TCIA). Haupt participated in an extensive review of professional practices aimed at safeguarding consumers. The review included:

  • ethical business conduct
  • best business practices
  • consumer satisfaction
  • formal training and certification of employees
  • compliance with industry standards
  • adherence to safety standards
  • insurance coverage

The accreditation means The Haupt Tree Company adheres to all the accreditation standards and has undergone a rigorous application process. The TCIA verified this by conducting an on-site audit of The Haupt Tree Company. The accreditation is in effect for a period of three years, with renewal check-ups required every year. The annual renewal ensures that the required number of certified arborists are still on staff, that the company is properly insured and that the company has a good safety and consumer satisfaction rating.

Companies accredited by TCIA are required to provide documented proof in many areas that protect consumers. Even tree care sales personnel must be trained to a level of technical proficiency equivalent to TCIA’s Tree Care Specialist credential. This training includes tree biology, pruning standards, transplanting, tree disease and injury diagnosis, construction injury prevention, safety, soil science, and disease and pest control.

“TCIA Accreditation provides consumers a way to find tree care companies that are trustworthy in their business and tree care practices,”said TCIA president Cynthia Mills. “Our TCIA Accreditation program is the only one of its kind in America and will give consumers peace of mind.”
